I made a cake this year - just forgot to post it on here. This was for my mother-in-laws birthday last month. Kinda going for Mardigras colors since she is from Louisiana originally.
Devils food cake with vanilla buttercream surrounded with fudge swirl and cherry chip icecream on cones. Definetly a neat way to have your cake and icecream.

Well Hello Again....

As I no longer bake cakes (when you are on a diet it is just safer not to tempt fate), I though I would post a few photos for my mom.
This is my only hydrangea tree that lived after I planted it this spring. I put together and installed the tree ring my mom bought me tonight (sorry mom it broke in a few spots while I was putting it together).

And this one is of me - my first time in a dress since my first wedding - see the diet is working (even though it meant giving up being creative with cake).

So anyway - love to my momma and anyone who bothers to stop by and read my strange rantings. I should be posting a few photos of cakes soon - can't get away not making my kids cakes.

A little non-edible

I learned two important rules tonight - 1) don't burn yourself on the hot glue gun and 2) measure before you start so you know what your making will fit (I think this should have been rule 1!). Anyway, after replacing the doors and storm doors to my house I just knew I wanted to hang wreathes for the seasons on my front door - too bad there isn't much room and I didn't find that out till the project was over - sigh.

Luckily for me it fit in between the kitchen door and storm door - so not a total waste. (Wow I need to paint the basement door - it is looking grimey. Sorry my ADD kicked in! SQUIRL!!!) I think I need to rework my bow but all in all I'm a happy camper.

Air yum yum...

Something a little different and leaning (gotta work on that problem). Zebra stripes, stars, hearts, flowers, and peace signs - what else says girl? This chocolate cake is covered with butter cream icing and decorated with fondant accents.
